Lasotè
Rooted in marronage (settlements of slaves who fled plantations) in the northern Caribbean, this tradition involves collectively plowing the soil to the rhythm of drums, with the aim of making the soil more fertile. The musicians face the workers and move bit by bit as the plowing progresses. Industrialization has made lasotè rare, but some people continue to practice it.

Cocoa production at Habitation Céron
Satisfy your curiosity and learn how cocoa is made! Habitation Céron began producing cocoa several years ago. After the discovery of an ancient cacao tree on the land, the owners decided to plant more. Today, there are over 2,000 cacao trees on the estate. Habitation Céron is a member of the Valcaco cocoa producers association and even makes its own chocolate bars!
